Cicogna is just 15 km away from Verbania, but it seems to be out of this world. It is regarded as the small “capital” of the largest wilderness area of Italy. Here you can get in touch with the nature and enjoy its peacefulness and the passing of seasons.
The road that leads to Cicogna is narrow and you also have to drive through a tunnel; therefore you can not use camper or vehicles higher than 2,70 mt.
Coming from the highway Genova-Gravellona, follow the direction Gravellona Toce until Baveno-Stresa. Go on on your left direction Verbania and after crossing the river Toce you will find a big rotary. First turn right and after few meters turn left direction Bieno, Parco Nazionale Val Grande.
Here the roads goes uphill. After 10 km, driving through Bieno, you will reach a cross (on your left there is an industrial plant); here you have to turn left direction Santino, Rovegro, Cicogna.
From here you have to drive 11 km to reach Cicogna. You always have to drive on the main road, through Santino and Rovegro; then the road goes uphill for 7 km and finally you will reach Cicogna!
